Luminar’s Blade Integration for Trucking

I had the pleasure of partnering with Think Out Loud on filming Luminar’s Blade Integration for trucking. I was tasked by Luminar to film their Blade Integration on their Truck with a trailer and on the highway for the first time on film.

Luminar is attending IAA Transporation and needed this footage so they could showcase their Blade integration at their trade show booth. With time winding down, it was crucial to not only get great looking footage, but we also had no room for error. So I immediately thought of Think Out Loud and they did not dissapoint.

I worked internally with my team to produce a rough storyboard and shot list to help Think Out Loud nail every shot that we needed. We also aligned on camera movements and angles that Luminar did and did not like when filming their Blade Integration.

We filmed all day in Merced, California on a highway with Think Out Loud’s chase car which was equipped with a crane, gimbal and RED Komodo. We had a driver, a crane operator, gimbal operator and camera/focus operator all in the car to get all of the shots. We also got a few drone shots to top it off.
